The Alabama Association of Independent Schools (AAIS) is a non-profit organization serving independent elementary and secondary schools in Alabama. AAIS supports its member schools by fostering communication, collaboration, and professional development. The Board of Directors consists of the Heads of School of the member institutions.
All AAIS member schools are incorporated as non-profit institutions governed by a Board of Trustees and are accredited either by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) or the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
