AAIS to merge with AISA
Combined organization will strengthen the independent school community in Alabama

The Alabama Association of Independent Schools (AAIS) and the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) announced on December 3, 2014 that they have completed an agreement to merge. Following final approval by the governing bodies, the merged organization will operate as the Alabama Independent School Association, with AISA Executive Director Randy Skipper as the leader of the merged organization. Three members of the AAIS Headmasters' Association have accepted appointments to serve on the AISA Board of Directors: Palmer Kennedy (Advent Episcopal Shool, Birmingham), Marty Lester (St.Paul's Episcopal School, Mobile), and Jay Rainey (Randolph School, Huntsville).

"We're extremely excited about this merger creating the opportunity to expand services offered to independent schools and to better serve as an advocate for independent school education in the state of Alabama," said Palmer Kennedy, Advent Episcopal School Head and President of the AAIS Headmasters' Association.
